smail's beach party
There was a party on Smail's beach this saturday to benefit "Beach Care" - an organization working to clean up local beaches and restore the dune grasses and whatnot. I got Gretchen (my fellow biker) to go with me. It was fairly fun I guess, decent enough music (but nothing too amazing) and some impressive fire-torch-burning-stick dancers. Unfortunately the land by the beach gets cold dark and windy at night, so I spent most of my time huddled by the bonfire. That was good for my lungs, I'm sure. While there I learned from Scotty the art of banana boat making: you take a banana, slice it down the middle, shove in some chocolate and marshmallows if you have them, and then wrap it up in tin foil and shove it in hot embers for a while. I suppose it'll do until I can get back to the land of graham crackers and make smores. Actually hot cooked banana is really good. If a bit slimy.
